Sheet 6: sketch of a linkage mechanism related to the brake and synchronization
A sheet of technical pencil sketches, numbered "6", outlining a linkage system associated with the handwritten mentions "Frein" (Brake) and "Synchrone" (Synchronous).

Understanding this document
In this document
This sheet, numbered "6" at the top right p. 41, bears an additional inscription read with uncertainty "15 T-83" p. 41.
Technical sketches
The sheet presents several interconnected pencil sketches:
- A first sketch, at the top left, shows a mechanism with a horizontal axis crossed by a rod, with a pivoting triangular part connected to an angled arm ending in a circle — probably a lever or articulated connecting rod system p. 41.
- A second sketch, at the center-right, shows a similar mechanism: horizontal rod, arrow-shaped part, hatched oblique arm, connected to a vertical arm descending towards a ring and then towards a curved shape ending in another ring at the bottom of the page — evoking a linkage or control system p. 41.
- A third small sketch, on the right, shows a hatched vertical element (possible spring or shock absorber) associated with a horizontal arrow pointing towards the inscription "Frein" p. 41.
Handwritten annotations
Several words and letters accompany the drawings: an inscription read as "Cael" or "Axel" above an arrow p. 41, the isolated letters "U" and "D" on either side of a hatched element p. 41, as well as a cursive word at the bottom of the page read with uncertainty "Synchrone" p. 41. An isolated "+" sign surmounts the first sketch p. 41. Repeated wavy lines, resembling initials or measurement notations, appear in three places p. 41.
No date is written on the sheet.
Context
The handwritten vocabulary — "Frein" and the word read as "Synchrone" — evokes, in the automotive field, braking mechanisms and devices for the synchronization of gears or mechanical components, two classic themes of automotive mechanical design in the interwar and post-war periods.
It is also known that Paul Magès conducted varied research at Citroën on mechanical components (braking, transmission, synchronizers) before dedicating himself to hydropneumatic suspension; this general knowledge is, however, not attested by the present sheet, which remains a simple sketch support.
Archivist's perspective
This sheet probably belongs to a series of quick work notes, where Magès sketches linkage solutions related to a braking system and, it seems, a synchronized mechanism p. 41. The number "6" in a circle suggests that it fits into a larger sequence of numbered sketches, of which other items in the collection — for example the "Status of Standard Components Retouched during Assembly" forms — could constitute equivalents or complements.
The "1933" folder explicitly mentioning a study of a "synchronizer" among a list of studies could shed light on the dating and context of this sheet, without this link being certain due to a lack of direct cross-referencing in the document itself.
The rapid handwriting, hatching, and reading uncertainties confirm the nature of a working draft, not intended for distribution.
